Short.

Usually when someone doesn’t blog for a while, they have a lot to write about. But not in this case, nothing has happened since the accreditation dinner. Well, stuff happened… but things that aren’t worth mentioning :p
Basically right now I’m looking for something to do at home. Since I installed windows on my mac, I can play games now! So I’ve been looking for a good online game to play. So far I’ve tried out MapleStory, Silkroad Online, and GunZ. All of those don’t interest me enough to keep me playing. =(
That was a really short blog. But oh well. I’ll think of something interesting to blog about later…
Till next time~

All good things must come to an end.

On Tuesday the accreditation team went out for a dinner/party thing. It was the last time we’d ever see each other again (I really hope not). It was really fun, but really sad at the same time. I think I’ll start with the subway down to the restaurant.
Most of the accreditation team was supposed to meet at Christie station to sign the balls for Elaine and Marloes (gifts). We were supposed to meet at 6 – 6:30, so I got there at 6:16 (I have a transfer to prove it). To my surprise, nobody was there yet, so I sat there and waited. Once again, I was surprised! Elaine popped out of the subway station! I was thinking in my mind “Oh crap, now what?” I had no idea how we were supposed to sign the balls. (it was supposed to be a surprise) In the end it turned out ok, but it was really weird. Elaine ended up waiting with me for everybody else.
When everybody else turned up, we all got up to walk to the bus station (which was just outside the station). Elaine told us all to get out our transfers, and apparently I wasn’t allowed to use the Christie station transfer. A few people had that problem as well, so Alfonso and I decided to go down one station (subway), and go pick up a transfer there. We went down to Ossington station, got a transfer, and got back to Christie station.
When we were waiting for the bus, Alfonso told me that he needed an ATM. So we went on a journey to go look for one. But first, we went to try to find a bank. We walked down the street a bit, and saw that Christie station is basically KOREA. The whole street was FULL of Korean stuff. Korean stores, Korean restaurants… EVERYTHING KOREAN! But unfortunately there was no Korean bank. We ended up going to a Korean convenience store that had an ATM, but Alfonso’s card didn’t work there, so we gave up the quest.
We eventually got to the restaurant, and sat down. I took a look at the menu, and I noticed that I couldn’t pronounce a thing. Good thing I was sitting beside Alfonso (he’s Mexican). Basically I had whatever he had (except for the main course). I copied his drink (a sangria) and wow, it was good. I don’t know what it is, but it is good. I also cannot describe the flavor, but it’s gooood.

sangria!

For my entrĂ©e, I had an enchiladas mexicanas, I have no idea what it is (even after I ate it). The funny thing is that I had no idea what I ordered, so when it came, everyone was confused. So it came, and I started eating it, not knowing what it was, and what it was supposed to look like. And it turned out that it was actually not my food, and my food was the same thing, but red. But it was a good thing that I only touched the rice and the salad, not the actual… thing. The thing was good, and really filling. I have to thank Alfonso for recommending it. Hehe.

Marloes' food that I was fooled with.

my food.

I also had an awesome dessert drink thing named Atole. It was strawberry flavored, which was awesome. Thanks again to Alfonso for recommending it.

Strawberry Atole

Throughout the dinner, the paparazzi was present. Every time someone did something funny, or made a pose, there would be a series of flashes, followed by a huge burst of laughter. We were all joking about the mass amounts of emails that facebook would be sending us saying “blabla has tagged you”. Amazingly, most of the pictures are already up, and I’ve only received 30-40 emails! Yay!
It was pretty sad near the end, because Alfonso would be leaving back to Mexico (he came here just for the world cup!), and it would be the last time we would see him. (for a long time). I hope that there will be some sort of yearly accred. reunion.
So we all left the restaurant, said our goodbyes, and the group of TTC-ers set off. The group at the start included: Me, Nazir, Greg, Rozana, Charmaine, Ilham, Elaine, Somnath, Danny, and Cyril. The first person to leave was Nazir at Bathurst station. He decided that he would walk home from there, so we said our goodbyes, and then there was 9. When we got down to the subway area, Cyril had to go west, while the rest of the group was going east, and then there was 8. Elaine got off at St. George. Everyone except for Greg got off at Bloor/Yonge, Rozana and Ilham got off at Eglinton. Danny, Charmaine, and Somnath got off at Sheppard, and I was alone the rest of the way.

going down to Bathurst station

My FIFA volunteer experience was amazing. I met many new and amazing people. At the start, I didn’t know anyone there. Cyril taught me EVERYTHING to do with accreditation. He taught me how to take photos and print badges, he also taught me how to laminate. That all happened at the Direct Energy centre. When we moved to the QE (Queen Elizabeth) building, I talked to a few people, but I didn’t really feel like I belonged. Everyone was older than I was. It seemed like everyone knew each other, and I just happened to be there. But I kept going back to the centre for my shifts, and continued to talk to the few people I talked to. Eventually I ended up talking to most of the people. In the end, I look back, and I realize that I still don’t know many of the people who worked at the accreditation centre. I still don’t feel like I belong. I just feel like I’m just… floating around. But all in all, it was fun. I met amazing people. And I had a good experience.
One of the main things we did at the accreditation centre was take pictures. I look at all the pictures that were taken, and there is not ONE picture of me working. There are tons of pictures of other people working, but none of me, haha.

A funny quote from my time at the accreditation centre:
(watching the game on tv)
Boris: That place looks familiar!
Nazir: Yea, its right next door.

Well, I’m sure that I will remember more stuff about the accreditation centre, and I shall blog about it when that comes up.

Chemicals ate my pants.

Seriously. I'm so pissed. Some customer brought a leaking bottle of corrosive stain repellant onto my counter. And it ate the cotton off my black pants, leaving a web of white elastics.
Tear.
Monday, July 23, 2007

Oh wow.

There is a topless guy going around my backyard with a lawn mower.

Hot. Damn.

Would it be too much if I took a picture?

Hehehe

How it ends.

Guess I’ll have to blog sooner or later. I haven’t written anything since Thursday, and many things have happened since, most of it dealing with FIFA, and Harry Potter. I guess I should start with the events that happened on Thursday. Right as I left the Queen Elizabeth (QE) building, a fight started between the Chile players and the Toronto Police. There isn’t much to say, because most likely you’ve read about it in the news. If not, basically a player got taser-d, and everyone got pepper sprayed. I still think that the Toronto Police overreacted. Big time.
Well, on Friday I went down to the National Soccer Stadium (BMO Field, renamed because of sponsorship issues) to rehearse for the stage setup (stage for awards and stuff at the end of the final game). The volunteers that chose to help out are asked to put on the decorations of the stage. Which was really confusing at the beginning. Before anything got underway, the guy in charge had to instruct the union workers (the actual people who make the stage). So while that was happening, the volunteers got to go on the field (thanks Trish!), and play soccer with the game ball! (thanks Elaine and Trish!)

It was my first time on BMO Field, and my first time playing soccer there. (probably the last as well). As I was walking on to the pitch for the first time, I went down to touch the artificial grass. It was basically like a soft Christmas tree, with rubber between the little pieces of “grass”. The funniest thing is, while we were walking to the field from the QE building, I was talking to Alfonso about how I never see players with some sort of rug burn. And as we were playing, Alfonso pushed me (unintentional, haha) and I got rug burnt (burned, burn). Now I have a scar that will remind me of playing soccer on BMO Field, and Alfonso (He’s a great guy!)
During the actual rehearsal for the award ceremony, I was asked to pretend to be Stephen Harper (since the VIP’s wouldn’t be there for the rehearsal). It was quite fun being Stephen Harper, aside from the fact that we had to stand on the stage for almost 45 minutes. Also during the rehearsal, they said that Austria beat Chile, and Argentina beat Czech Republic. Which made us wonder: Match fixing?! Haha.

us volunteers pretending to be VIPs

There is a lot more to say about Friday at the stadium, but I will just sort of list it: sitting on players’ bench, pizza, unorganized panels, TFC change room, and bags of dirty towels.

sitting on the players' bench!

This next thing, I’m not sure if I should categorize it as Friday or Saturday. I guess it would be a Saturday thing. HARRY POTTER! I went to the release party type thing at Bayview Village, and there was quite a few people. The guy handing out the books looked like Hagrid. Seriously. During the line up (I had no idea how long it took) I was reading the FIFA magazine (Quite boring, but killed time). Eventually I got the book, went home, and started reading till like 5 or 6am.

preorder lineup

lineup to BUY the book

Originally I didn’t have to go the Accred. centre on Saturday, but I was a nice guy and took Greg’s shift because he had to go to his goddaughter’s birthday party. I totally forgot that I had to wake up early on Saturday, which is why I slept at like 5 or 6am. So I woke up at 10 (my shift started at 10), and I rushed downtown, But I was lucky that no-one cared that I was late. Not much happened on Saturday, so on we go to Sunday! (yesterday)
Yesterday was the finals for the FIFA U20 World Cup Canada 2007. Which means that there was an award ceremony at the end! (which I am involved in :D). Since this is the game right after the Chile brawl, the police presence was crazy. There were at least 10 police on horse, 10 on motorbike, and 15 or so on bike. Not to mention the ones on feet stationed IN the stadium.      There was a lot to do yesterday, including bringing water from the storage place to the stadium (wow that was tiring). Since I was to help set up the stage at the end, the volunteers and I got to watch the last 20 minutes or so of the game. From field level, we got to see the last goal! We ran on to set up the decorations (we had a time frame of 7 minutes).

volunteer crew

in action! i'm the one holding the long logo thing on the left

Since we had to stick around to take down the stage, we got to watch the award ceremony from the seats right behind the player’s bench. I don’t have any pictures, but I’m sure someone took some, and I’ll get my hands on those later.
After taking down the stage, we took some pictures behind the “CHAMPIONS” sign. (again no pictures, will get some soon).
When I got back to the QE building, the sale had already started (merchandise 50% off for staff). It wasn’t really 50% off. Everything was $5, except for the puke green t-shirts that were 3 for $10. I bought 2 hats, and 3 shirts. :p
Since everything was over. I went to the drinks fridge, and took a 6 pack of powerade, and a few cokes. Which killed my back on the way home. I should of took some more, buttttt, that would of killed my back even more.

I look back at this successful tournament, and I’m glad I was a part of it. I met many new friends, and a lot of great people. It’s sad that it is over. But this is something that all of us will be remembering for the rest of our lives. Thanks for everything, I will miss you. ACR #1!

till next time~

P.S. Sorry for the crap blog, I knew that I had a lot to cover, and I got lazy at some points. I know I left out a lot, but I’ll fill the rest in later

Rain, FIFA, and Harry Potter

Today is full of water, and pictures, fun, and... stuff! So as you might or might not know, today I got to go somewhere! (yay) I got to go to volunteer at FIFA HQ. Which is the Intercontinental Hotel on Bloor St. Which means instead of taking the subway down to union station, I take the subway to Bloor station, then switch over to the Bloor line, and take that to St. George station. As I left the station, it started to pour. Literally pour.

rain!
more rain!

So as it was pouring, I took shelter under some construction shelter thing, those things that shield the sidewalk from falling objects or w/e. Anyways, as I was standing there, I could see the ROM pretty clearly. I started to realize that it was uglier than I originally thought it was. I always knew that it was ugly. But I never knew that it was ugly to this extent. I don’t know what you think about it, but I personally think it is ugly.

ugliness

After around 5 minutes of standing in the shelter type thing, I decided to make a break for it, and run into the hotel. I was early, so I decided to go to the food place and get a bite to eat before my shift started (even though I could eat during my shift). When I got to the food place, THERE WAS NO FOOD! All they had was coffee, and drinks (coke, diet coke, sprite, etc…) I was really hungry, so I made my mind to run to McDonalds to grab something, and run back. It was a really stupid idea. It was raining harder than ever. When I got to McDonalds, I was dripping water everywhere, and everyone was looking at me (McDonalds is like… 4 buildings down). I ordered my food, and ran back to the hotel, dripping wet again. The doorman saw me leave, and when he saw me come back, he just smiled at me (freaky). So as I got back to the hotel, Marloes (supervisor.. leader person. =P) got there! So I had good timing (the only time today).

the desk
unlimited supply of drinks, and the TV

The HQ is pretty quiet, the only person to come in today was some Japanese lady from Sony. She said she just came from Japan, and needed her badge. While waiting for her badge, she noticed that the laptops and TV we had were not Sony (FIFA partner & sponsor) but Toshiba. She made a few comments, and concluded that the Sony/FIFA deal was quite recent, so they didn’t have time to update it in Canada (haha). There was a bit of talking, and somehow we ended up talking about days, and she said it would be her second July 19th because she just came from Korea. That really confused me because when she first came in, she said she just arrived from Japan.
After the HQ accred. centre closed, Marloes was heading to the stadium, so I chose to tag along. During the ride there, we were both afraid of the rain, and how the game might be cancelled. When we arrived, Marloes gave me a poncho because the stadium is quite a way from the parking lot.
When I got to the stadium accred. centre, I got to watch the Argentina vs. Chile game (final score 3 – 0) I personally thought the game was more of an Oscar performance, and a poker game at the same time. The Argentineans were amazing actors and divers, while the ref gave out cards like a dealer in a poker game. The game ended 3 – 0 for Argentina, and 11 vs. 9. Chile received 2 red cards.
I was afraid to walk from the accred. centre to the TTC station, because of those DIE HARD Chile fans. I was afraid that they would be pissed that they lost, and take their anger on the first asian guy that they saw. But I made it out OK.

Chile fans.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is coming out on Saturday. I was pretty excited before, but not anymore. Someone spoiled the book for me. I pretty much know what happens in the book now, so if anyone wants me to spoil it for them, feel free to ask me!
Thanks!
Bye for now~

P.S.    I typed this up at 11:50 ish on… Thursday the 19th, and finished on Friday the 20th so the “today”s refer to thurday.

Gross

I'm sick. So so very sick.

Yet people still let me touch their things, as I try not to sneeze all over them. It's so dirty. Although as germy as my hands are, I didn't think they could get any worse with all the gross-ness from the money that rubs off on my fingers. I've practically developed OCD cos I have to wash them over and over. The smell takes a while to get out.

Rest times. Gotta fight off those sneezing fits.

Boris, you need something to do.

That said, I think you need a job.

Really. All you do is complain about how bored you are, etc etc. But you could've easily just COME TO SOFTBALL.

We won our first two games against ONE and Epiphany, woo. And then since practice got rained out yesterday everyone came over and we watched Derailed over pizza and popcorn. Mmm, Clive Owen.

All your problems would be solved, kid, with some action with The Way.

Repeats, volunteering, harry potter, and apologies

The last few days... I did not feel like blogging at all, nor do I now. But I will try and recap what I've done for the last few days, and try to make it sound interesting. (It was far from interesting) Well, on monday.. I basically sat at home, played xbox, and a bit of Planet Puzzle League on ds. I sat at home, extremely bored. When I ate dinner, peter and yilun came by and told me to go to cresthaven after (my elementary school), so I went and we threw a frisbee around, and kicked a soccer ball around. After that, I got home just in time for Hell's Kitchen. I love that show, but it's sad that I missed the 2 episodes before monday's. Someone needs to tell me what happened during the wedding episode. Yesterday was a repeat of monday, minus frisbee at cresthaven and hell's kitchen. Instead, I went to play soccer. We ended up going to Highland and watching ronald's house league game (they tied haha). We only got to catch the end of it though. Oh well.
My best guess is that today will be a repeat of yesterday, minus soccer. and plus hidden palms. I think it's a good show, but it's already the season finale today, so guess I won't be watching that during the summer.
I'm happy that I finally have something to do tomorrow. I get to go down to FIFA HQ to volunteer. But it's sad in it's own way. I was given the opportunity to stay home tomorrow, because they know it's going to be quiet (HQ is always quiet), but I denied because I have nothing else to do. At least it's a game day (Chile vs. Argentina), so I'll have something to watch on TV.
On another note, I said that I would be trying to read Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in... 8 days. The truth is, it is impossible now. I haven't started. So sad. Oh well, I'll go read a summary or something.
Sorry for the boring blog,
bye for now~

Boring, Si Vous Play, Sunday, and TFC

Boring. Boring. Boring. Bored.
Basically, that is a description of Saturday, and yesterday. I have had NOTHING to do. Except, on Saturday I got to go to Si Vous Play. For those of you who don't know what Si Vous Play is... it's a store that sells soccer stuff for cheap. They not only sell soccer stuff, they sell gangster clothes and cheap shoes too. We left at a bad time. Right when we leave, it started raining. JB used his plastic bag as a sort of hood (he looked really retarded, even though he kept saying “oh yea, look at me, I’m so smart”). It really is a shame that I didn’t have my camera on me.
Yesterday was quite sad. All I did was go help my mom out with groceries, play xbox, eat, and fold cue card cranes. We bought boxes and boxes of ice cream, and popsicles, which I probably ate 1/4 of already. Of course, I ate it all while playing xbox (being the sad person that I am). Once again, I was playing GTA3. During the time that I wasn’t playing xbox, I was folding cue card cranes. Yes that’s right. Cue cards. I was bored, and I reached for a cue card, and started to fold a crane. I was THAT bored.
cranes!
On another note:
Toronto FC tied with Houston Dynamo with one man down. :D

Anime, and Harry Potter

Anime! Well, I'm not an anime freak. Those anime freaks are just... creepy.. going to all their conventions and dressing up and stuffs. I've only watched a few series of anime, and attempted to watch many others.
Animes that I've watched are:
  • Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad
  • Samurai 7
  • Chobits
  • Dragonball GT (cantonese version... haha)
  • Neon Genesis Evangelion
I don't think that is alot, considering that I'm asian, and many asian people are anime freaks. hehe. Well, at least I attempted to watch a few of the more popular ones, Bleach. I just couldn't handle the anime. The only reason I started to watch it is because I played Jump! Ultimate Stars for the DS. It's basically a fighting game that features ALL (I think) of the anime characters owned by Jump!
So anyways, I found out today that the anime that I enjoyed the most (out of the little that i have seen), Evangelion, is coming out with 4 new movies between this year, and next year. The 4 movies will recap the season (26 episodes, 2 movies). I'm quite excited. :O

evangelion!
Since Harry Potter is coming out on the 21st. I will be trying to read the 6th book in 8 days. I highly doubt that I can finish it, but its worth a try.

I'm getting lazy now, there's a lot more to say.
But I'll leave it to next time.

WAL*MART = Godly

If you've ever been to the Wal-Mart by Warden and Eglinton, you might know what I'm talking about when I say:

HOLY FRICK!

As I grow ever-so-older =], I find things less and less impressive. But ginourmously huge Supercentres? Damn. First off, this place is absolutely massive. There are clothes, housewares, home decor, garden centre, auto centre, electronics, a McDonald's, an optician, around 38 checkouts (I can't imagine them all being in use at once), and a full on grocery store. This includes a complete produce section (yay, veggies and fruit), a meat and cheese counter, and enough other food to feed a small country. So much food, so perfectly faced, and so very well aligned on the shelf. I actually started feeling sick looking at all the food and walking down the aisle. Well, nausea or the fear of God.

After working in retail, I definitely have a higher appreciation for things I never even considered before. For example, if you see an aisle that looks like it's stocked completely full of stuff and it's all pretty and neat, it's because someone spent their time putting it in order. And wow, it looks breathtaking but facing/fronting is hella hella boring. Make sure the English label is on the front. Make sure it's pulled to the edge. Make sure the boxes are aligned. It's annoying menial labour but someone gets paid to do it.

On another note, I had a complete shit for a customer today. Blah blah, normal transaction. Acknowledge/greet, scan, total, take money, open register, get change, give change...
"WHY YOU DO LIKE THIS?"
W: ...Sorry?
CS: "LIKE THIS." *sporadically splays out his fingers with his hand in the air, facing down*

W: *thinks, the frick is he talking about.*
CS: "When you give money! You throw it! I never see anyone do like this. LIKE THIS! Don't you ever do this again to anyone else!"
W: ...
Then he leaves. I DROPPED YOUR FUCKING CHANGE INTO YOUR FUCKING HAND. Do you expect me to daintily place every single coin into your palm? I DON'T KNOW WHERE THAT'S BEEN. Next time I whip your change at your FACE, ASSHOLE.

That would've been sweet.

And to BORIS! Thanks for the intro, dear. Couldn't help but crash.

Keyboard, chinese food, lean on me, watermelons, and WENDY!

Oh kay! here we go. lots of things to talk about, hope i don't get lazy and leave it for another day. I guess I will start with the FIFA keyboard. I finally got around to taking a picture of it. (yay)

click!

So as you can see, the keyboard has the "y" key, and the "z" key switched, which is really confusing when I have to type something. The keyboard also replaced the colons, semi-colons, quotation marks, etc.. with weird accented letters. The regular "@#$%^" (heh) keys are there, but you have to press the "Alt Gr" key to access them, or else you get stuff like "+". The question marks, exclamation marks, quotation marks, and apostrophes are also misplaced, which makes it all the more confusing. There is much more to this keyboard, but it would take forever to mention every single thing about it, so I'll just leave the "noticing of weird things" to you.
Today at volunteering we had chinese food again. The chinese food they serve there is ALWAYS the same thing. Dry chow mein, greasy egg rolls, and stale fortune cookies (yumm). It seems as though every single time I have a shift, they serve their chinese food. I think today was my 4th or 5th time eating it. But they do have those cute little boxes that you see on american TV shows. Too bad I don't have a picture. But I'm sure that my next shift, they will have chinese food again, and that's when I'll take a picture.
On the streetcar home today, there was a bunch of Polish people who were leaving the game early because they know they lost (Game: Argentina vs. Poland). Basically the streetcar was crowded. So anyways, I was stuck standing (sucks, I was tired) between two guys. One guy kept talking to his friend.. actually he was more yelling to his friend. And the other guy was... just weird. I sort of think hes one of those creepy homosexual types. He KEPT LEANING ON ME. It was SO annoying, but I couldn't really do anything about it cause the streetcar was packed. And even if it wasn't, I was scared. (he was a big guy) Not only did he keep leaning on me, he kept turning around and looking at me. Every time I inched back a bit, he did too. So when we got off the streetcar at Union station, I tried my best to NOT get on the same subway train as him. In my desparate attempt to stay away from him, I got on the wrong subway. (ha ha) Luckily I noticed one stop later, so that wasn't too bad.
I was wondering on the subway, why do alot of women smell like watermelons? On the subway I was seated near a bunch of girls, and they all smelled like watermelons. The smell was so strong! After I got off the subway, off the bus home.. Two girls passed me as I was walking the rest of the way home, AND THEY BOTH SMELLED LIKE WATERMELONS! What is with this watermelon smell obsession?
I can't really think of much more, anything else I think of will be saved for the next time I post.

About this blog: Well, Wendy decided that she wanted in on the fun, and so she joined in on the fun. Bye Bye bb's world =(. Oh well, she agreed to do all the artsy stuff for this blog, so its all good! yay.

I will not obsess, I will not obsess

Extreme Detail Orientation (EDO?) is a hard thing to overcome. I mean, why settle for something imperfect when perfection could be just around the corner?

Well, probably because that corner won't come up for another few hours, after 56 more colour changes, 17 more fonts, and 16 more layouts.

One day this blog will look superfantastique. One day.

Being emo, Quickspot, soccer, jobs, and volunteering!

Sometimes, all someone needs is someone to talk to. When something happens, it's just an automatic thing to tell someone about it. But what happens when there is nobody to tell, nobody to talk to. What happens? It sucks. I can tell you that. Oh well, at least I have found something to waste my time on. It's called Quickspot. It's a game for the Nintendo DS. Basically its a "spot the differences" game. I've already spent WAAYYY too much time playing it. I solved like.. 118 puzzles in a few hours. There are 10 differences in each puzzle.
Today we played soccer again, and now i'm just physically tired. I think I might get a cramp from typing. Other than soccer and Quickspot, today I basically sat at home and bored myself to death. heh.
Oh, I forgot, I'm desperate for a job, so I went to Canadian Tire and Ikea today to drop off some resumes. I really hope I get hired.
At least I have something to do tomorrow :) Volunteering! yay, how fun. I'm going to try to remember to take a picture of the german keyboard tomorrow.
Hope I remember.

Boring, xbox, jokes, and best friends

today was boring. boring. boring.
i was lucky enough to stay inside all day. i got to wake up at 9-ish, and talk to steph. after that i just stayed up... kind of half-dead. so i decided to start playing grand theft auto 3 again. that only kept me entertained for an hour tops. then jb called, and decided that he wanted to come over because he just dropped summer school. he's been talking about dropping summer school for a long time.. but i always thought that he was joking.. haha. so he came over and my xbox kept is entertained for a bit.
after he left, i was left at home again. bored. so i started to play ds, not much to say about that. but my day sucked. and thats all i have to say about that.
my best friends :)

Hunger, Sleepless, more FIFA, and being cheap.

So a few minutes ago (3:30 ish), I woke up and I was really hungry. I kind of think that the reason i woke up isn't cos i'm hungry, but because I slept really early. I slept at like 11 ish because of soccer. I came home from soccer, and I was physically tired, so i just sort of lay down for a bit, and fell asleep. Heh, well time to talk a bit more about volunteering~

I've mentioned that I volunteer for the FIFA U20 World Cup Canada 2007. The specific place that I help out with is accreditation. Basically I am supposed to make ID badges for whoever needs them. There are three stations, greeter, photographer, and print/lam. The greeter station basically checks if you're on the system, and if you are, they put you in the image que (Q). The photographer then looks at the image Q and calls the person, and takes their photo. Printing/laminating station is sort of... self explanitory. The accreditation centre is right next to BMO Field, but they call it the National Soccer Stadium. In order to get to the accreditation centre, I first take the 42 cummer bus to finch, subway to union, and take this lovely streetcar to exhibition.
Streetcar #509!
I love how in that picture, theres a random guy. haha.

Well, on sunday there was the Steelback Grand Prix happening in Toronto. Basically there was a race track all around the stadium and everything surrounding the stadium. We had to get workers passes to get in! ;o So because of the race happening on sunday, and the game happening as well (Chile vs Austria) we were asked to help out with security. yay. we also got to carry their equipment! double yay! I got to walk into Austria's change room, and boy was it nice in there. I'm sad that I didn't have a camera on me at the time.

After volunteering, i left with a few of my fellow volunteers, and then they dragged me into watching the Chile vs Austria game from the food building. I only watched a few minutes, before I got bored and left. I got one of those Chile chants stuck in my head though. "Chi Chi Chi! Le Le Le! Chile! Chile!" hehehe. I think its a nice chant.

Where I stood. It was wet, slippery, and scary! :O

Hi, transformers, and FIFA

we say hi to all those internet peoples that are reading this. we are afraid that some transformers might search this up on the world wide web and start stalking us. we saw the movie two days ago.

yesterday, we were at volunteering again. we volunteer for the FIFA U20 world cup canada 2007. we thinks it is a very boring job. basically all we do is sit there in front of a computer facebooking, or emailing. if we're not on the computer, we are watching tv, playing ps3, eating, drinking, or walking around. but we think it is nice because we get free stuff.

so yesterday after we got off our shift, we walked to watch the Chile vs. Austria game. we were cheap and stood at the food building!
we are getting lazy now, so we will blog again later... with MORE pictures! yay.
